Built in a museum, not a boardroom
MCVM was created because a small museum needed it.
It grew out of daily museum work: receiving donations, documenting artifacts, finding missing objects, tracking locations, creating exhibit labels, preserving institutional history, protecting records, and making selected collections accessible to the public.
MCVM wasn't designed by a software company trying to imagine how a small museum works. It was built inside one.
