About
Built in a museum, not a boardroom.
MCVM Collection Manager grew out of the daily work of caring for a real collection.
Why MCVM exists
MCVM began with practical museum problems: receiving donations, documenting artifacts, finding missing objects, tracking locations, creating labels, preserving institutional history, protecting records, and making selected collections accessible to the public.
Those experiences shaped the software. MCVM is intended for museums that need serious collections management without requiring staff and volunteers to become computer specialists.
Created and copyrighted by George Scott Williams. MCVM was originally built for the Mercer County Veterans Museum, where it continues to be tested and used in real museum work.
