Commercial terms

The museum owns its license and controls its collection.

These are the planned customer-facing terms for MCVM Collection Manager 1.0. They are published for pre-launch review and are not yet an offer for sale.

Draft terms; sales remain closed.

The final approved EULA, Order Form, Care + AI policy, and transaction record supplied before purchase will control the sale.

Perpetual institutional license

The planned $795 USD price, plus applicable tax, licenses MCVM perpetually to one named museum or collection-holding institution. The license belongs to the institution rather than an employee, volunteer, Windows account, or physical computer.

  • One authoritative production installation
  • Free transfer to a replacement computer without repurchase
  • Temporary overlap while a replacement is restored and verified, after which the old production installation is retired
  • Non-renewal never disables core MCVM or blocks collection access, backup, restoration, or export

MCVM Care + AI

The first 12 months are included. Unless cancelled, Care + AI automatically renews for $299 USD per year, plus applicable tax. Active Care + AI includes support, update eligibility, and the planned Managed AI service under the applicable policy. BYOK remains available where supported. Managed AI is not yet production-qualified, and its final provider data flow remains provisional.

Museum responsibility

The museum remains responsible for its users, backups, cataloging and professional judgment, rights and permissions, review of AI suggestions, and anything it chooses to publish. MCVM does not take ownership of museum collection data.

Cancellation and continuity

The museum may cancel future Care + AI renewal through the planned Paddle customer portal or by contacting MCVM. Cancellation affects future service renewal only. It does not terminate the perpetual license or restrict the museum's collection.
