Built in a museum, not a boardroom
MCVM exists because a small museum needed it.
It grew from the daily responsibility of caring for artifacts, donors, histories, photographs, locations, labels, volunteers, and institutional memory.
Software shaped by stewardship.
MCVM was independently created by George Scott Williams and developed in the operational environment of the Mercer County Veterans Museum. That environment supplied real problems: documenting donations, finding missing objects, preserving custody, creating labels, helping volunteers work safely, recovering after failure, and sharing history without exposing private records.
It is not generic inventory software with museum vocabulary pasted on top. It is a connected collection-management system with deliberate safeguards, conservative AI review, museum production tools, and respect for institutional ownership of data.
